MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) –  The City of Moraine is asking residents to help resolve an odor problem.

Moraine posted on the city’s website Monday the City Manager has attended several meetings about work being done at the Stony Hollow Landfill which they say has resulted in additional bad odors in the city.

A telephone hotline has been established by Stony Hollow to take complaints. That number is (937) 356-6203.

There is also a form you can fill out online or print from the city’s website.

According to the city’s website, the city manager said the odor is caused by Stony Hollow digging ditches 15 feet by 20 feet  which exposed degrading trash. Work at the site continues.

The city encouraged residents to continue to report odors on the website. All complaints will be reported to the Regional Air Pollution Control (RAPCA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
