WASHINGTON (WDTN) – Pharmavite LLC is recalling specific lots of Nature Made® products due to possible Salmonella or Staphylococcus aureus contamination.
The FDA announced the recall Wednesday but the company made their announcement Tuesday.
The Food and Drug Administration says they are initiating this recall out of an abundance of caution to protect public health. Officials say Pharmavite is working closely with the FDA to implement this recall and are notifying all retail customers and distributors to remove the product from store shelves immediately. The recalled products were distributed nationwide to various major retailers.
The lot number can be found on the back panel next to the expiration date. Recalls items should not be consumed. Consumers should return the products to their retailer for a full refund. If you have questions you can contact the company Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm PST at 1-800-276-2878.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that Salmonella and/or Staphylococcus aureus testing were not completed properly on these specific batch lots. Pharmavite has identified the cause of the error, is taking the matter very seriously and has implemented corrective actions to fix the issue.
