F-22 Raptor pilots surprise Dayton Children’s Hospital patients

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — It was a day full of surprises at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Members of the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team spent the day greeting patients at the hospital.

Karen Muller, Child Life Manager at Dayton Children’s, says the visit came as a surprise.

“To have a surprise visit from somebody is extra special for them,” she added, “Anytime we can do anything to really brighten that day to boost their morale. It’s not always just for the patients. It’s for the family too. So parents, siblings can enjoy the experience.”

Patients were given gifts from the F-22 crew, and were made honorary pilots for the day.
