Many are working ahead of the storm to keep you safe

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – As severe weather approaches the Miami Valley, there are many people who are anticipating a long night to keep you safe.

Dayton Skywarn, a local non-profit has several volunteers who radio weather reports across the region. The organization helps notify the National Weather Service to help protect more than a million people.

DP&L officials also have hundreds of employees on standby during the overnight hours, should severe weather take out power to residents.
