SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Two people have been taken to a hospital after a crash in Springfield Township.
It happened just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
Investigators say a black truck was going southbound on Bird Road when it collided with a flat bed truck going westbound on SR-41.
Both men were taken to Springfield Regional with non-life threatening injuries.
Ohio State Highway Patrol Lieutenant Brian Aller says both drivers claim they had the green light at the intersection.
“Don’t speed through an intersection without looking, even with a green light,” he said.
When crews arrived on the scene, they found one of the drivers in the grass and believed he was ejected from his truck.
One lane is closed on Bird Road while OSP investigates. Traffic is being diverted through Reid Elementary School — which is closed for the summer.
Further investigation showed the man was helped out of his truck by a passing motorist.
