Technology can keep you safe during severe weather

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) –  Severe weather is expected across the Miami Valley starting late Wednesday and into the morning hours of Thursday.

Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Tara Hastings says confidence is high that strong storms will move through the area. Rain is moving through Indiana now moving toward the Miami Valley.

There are two ways you can stay informed of severe weather, even while you’re asleep. You should download the Storm Team 2 Weather App to your mobile device. It will let you know when weather warnings are issued and when severe weather will affect you where you are.

Another way to stay in the know is to purchase a dedicated weather radio. These radios will sound an alert when a severe storm or tornado warning is issued, giving you the critical time you need to get to a safe place.
