DPD responds to explosion with firecrackers at doctor’s office

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Officers were called to reports of an explosion involving firecrackers at a Dayton doctor’s office.

Police responded to 504 Bowen Street Friday after 9 p.m.

A key-holder told police at least three front windows and two basement windows had been broken and it smelled like firecrackers inside. She said there were also remnants of firecrackers on the ground.

A neighbor told officers she heard a loud boom and looked outside and saw smoke coming from the building.

Crews from the bomb squad arrived on scene to collect the remains of the firecrackers and take photos.

At the same time, police were also dispatched to a suspicious circumstance of another large explosion in the area. It’s unclear if it is related to the incident at the doctor’s office.

The damage estimate to the building is unknown.
