OSP: Alcohol, speed factors in Yellow Springs double fatal

YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (WDTN) – Troopers said alcohol and speed appeared to be factors in a crash that killed two people in Yellow Springs.

It happened on Dayton Street near East Enon Road around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

According to troopers, James W. Acree, 36, passed a vehicle, lost control, went off the road, hit two traffic signs, and rolled the vehicle. James and his 24-year-old sister, Valerie C. Acree, who was riding as a passenger, both died as a result of their injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
