Gas leak causes evacuations in Washington Township

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Emergency crews were called to a gas leak Wednesday morning when a gas line was damaged during construction.

The incident happened around 11:00 Wednesday morning in the 700 block of Hidden Circle in Washington Township.

Construction workers were digging in the area when they struck a 2-inch gas line causing a leak.

About 20 people were evacuated while crews from Vectren worked to repair the rupture. Crews from Dayton Power and Light were also on the scene during the repairs.

No one was injured during this incident.
