YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (WDTN) – An annual bike tour benefiting four local charities kicked off on Saturday.

This is the 14th year of the Young’s Ice Cream Charity Bike Tour. Proceeds go toward the Alzheimer’s Association, South Community Positive Health Options, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and United Rehabilitation Services.

Organizers say a couple hundred people are participating in the two-day event, which has bike options for every level of cyclist.

This is a record-breaking year for the bike tour, as it marks $1 million donated to local charities.

“It’s really cool,” said Dan Young, owner of Young’s Jersey Dairy. “Always like adding another zero. I think it might be a few years before we get to add another one.”

The event wraps up on Sunday. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
