JEFFERSON TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – A Jefferson Township woman is facing charges after officials say she lured officers to her home and threatened to shoot them.
That woman called 911 several times making false claims, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the 4900 block of Ericson Avenue Monday morning after the woman said there were three dead bodies in her backyard and a family member was trying to kill her.
Chief Deputy Rob Streck says crews checked out every call only to learn they were all lies, but things quickly took a turn.
“We started getting phone calls saying, ‘I’m watching the deputies and I’m going to start shooting them,” said Streck.
Officers took the threats seriously and called SWAT. The incident led to a standoff when the woman refused to come out of the home.
Officials say her boyfriend arrived and gave officers a key to get inside. There, they found the woman hiding in the garage under furniture.
“She’s a 27-year-old female. We believe that she is also concealing contraband at this point also that’s being taken care of. There will be charges pending,” said Streck.
The woman’s identity has not yet been released and official charges are pending.
