(CNN) -Democratic National Committee Chair-woman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz will not speak at or preside over the party’s convention this week.
Party officials made the decision Saturday.
This come after e-mails surfaced that raised questions about the committee’s impartiality during the democratic primary.
A democrat familiar with the decision said it was done in hopes of preventing chaos on the convention floor among Sanders supporters.
A DNC source said the rules committee named Ohio Congresswoman Marcia Fudge (OH-11) permanent chair of the convention.
She will gavel each session to order and gavel each session closed.
