Local NBA player paying it forward through Dayton’s youth

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A local NBA player is giving back to his hometown.

Norris Cole, a graduate of Dunbar High School, held his third “Peace Wars” event of the year Saturday afternoon at Welcome Stadium.

The event is meant to promote peace, friendly competition, and community pride.

The kids and families who attended got to participate in relay races and team building exercises.

“We’re Dayton. We make up the community and we should be able to come together for a good cause,” said Norris Cole. “There is enough negativity going on in the world and this is something I beleive the foundation has provided. I believe it’s fitting, especially for what’s going on right now.”
