MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) – Several cities throughout the Miami Valley participated in the National Night Out campaign to promote police-community relationships.
Moraine Police hosted its event at Wax Park near the Payne Recreation Center Tuesday night.
According to Sgt. Jason Neubauer, having events that allow interaction with the community helps educate residents as well as make everyone feel safer.
“This is where the partnership starts. This is on the street as you say. This is where we meet the people within our community, establish trust and build trust from there,” Sgt. Neubauer said.
More than 16,000 communities throughout the country took part in this years campaign according to the National Association of Town Watch website.
