Police looking for inmate who walked away from program

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) –  Police are searching an area near Danner Avenue and Nicholas Road for an inmate who walked away from the Montgomery County Secure Transitional Offender Program, or S.T.O.P.

Police say Dustin Cochran escaped Tuesday morning.

Dayton Police and Montgomery County Sheriff Deputies are in the area now. Police did find a discarded orange jumpsuit they believe belonged to Cochran.

Court records show Cochran was arrested in June for fleeing police, obstructing official business and child endangering. The obstruction and child endangering charges were dismissed in July.

Sources tell 2 NEWS Cochran was the man who ran from a vehicle in Riverside after a chase, leaving his girlfriend and a child inside the car.
