In the first semifinal of the Olympic men’s soccer tournament, Brazil defeated Honduras 6-0.

Brazil got off to a dream start as Neymar put his team in front 15 seconds into the match. After knocking the ball away from a Honduras defender, Neymar was able to deflect the ball into the back of the net.

The goal is the fastest in Olympic history, beating the goal scored by Canada’s Janine Beckie in the group stage of the 2016 Olympic women’s tournament that had set the record.

While scoring the goal, Neymar fell awkwardly and was in visible pain. He tried to walk it off, but fell to the ground holding his chest. After getting up and falling again, Neymar was stretchered off the field. However, he returned to the field just a few minutes later and seemed to fully recover.

In the 26th minute, Gabriel Jesus doubled Brazil’s lead after beating Honduras goalkeeper Luis Lopez to a through ball and flicking it into the back of the net.

Nine minutes later, Jesus scored his second goal of the match as he received a pass from Neymar and blasted the ball home to make it 3-0.

Early in the second half, Brazil center back Marquinhos found himself wide open in the box off a corner kick and slotted the ball in to add to his team’s lead.

In the 79th minute, Luan made it 5-0 for Brazil after receiving a cross from Felipe Anderson.

In stoppage time, Luan drew a foul in the box to give Brazil a penalty kick. Neymar stepped up to take the shot and scored to give Brazil six goals.

Brazil maintained its lead and the clean sheet for the remainder of the match as it finished 6-0.
