Officers, ARC rescue wounded dog in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) –  Dayton Police K9 Officers rescued a dog this morning that needed their help.

The dog was found with a chain wrapped around a metal pole in front of Huffie’s Bar-B-Que on McArthur Avenue in Dayton Wednesday morning.

Dayton police and the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center worked to free the dog. Officers tell 2 NEWS the dog had no food or water and had open wounds on its head.

According to police, if the owner of the dog can be found they could face animal cruelty charges.

The dog was taken to the Animal Resource Center. ARC will handle the investigation.
