NWS confirms tornado touchdown, drone shows path through Darke Co.

DARKE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) The National Weather Service in Wilmington has confirmed an EF0 tornado with winds near 76 m.p.h. did touch down around 6:15 p.m. Saturday night. The tornado first touched down in Eastern Darke County three miles south of Gettysburg and was on the ground for about four miles. The width of the damage was 50 yards. The tornado lifted just east of the Darke/Miami County line after crossing Route 721.

Damage can be seen from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office drone video near Gettysburg Pitsburg Road. The video shows a clear path the tornado took through several farm fields damaging crops but missing a few houses.

There were no injuries reported.
