Former Fairborn band director pleads guilty to sexual battery

FAIRBORN, Ohio (WDTN) – A former band director at a local school has pleaded guilty for an inappropriate relationship with a student.

According to Fairborn Police, Robert Bass had a relationship with a female student while he was employed as Band Director at Fairborn High School. The relationship happened between January 1, 1996 and June 2, 1996.

Police say after an investigation, Bass pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery in Greene County Common Pleas Court.

Bass resigned as Band Director at William Mason High School in June 2016.

Robert Bass is currently out on bond and awaiting sentencing.
