HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – A detached garage and the cars inside it were destroyed by fire late on Thursday night.
It happened on Dayton Parkway just before 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.
When firefighters arrived, they found a detached garage completely engulfed in flames. The fire spread to a nearby fence and some trees before crews knocked down the flames.
The garage and the two cars inside it were destroyed in the fire, but firefighters had a difficult time pinpointing a cost of the damage due to the severity of the fire.
“Right now, probably about $50,000 to the structure and whatever the vehicles are,” Battalion Chief Terry Overman from the Harrison Township Fire Department said. “I don’t know what the vehicles are.”
“There’s so much damage, I can’t tell what they are, what year,” Overman said. “I’ve got the owners here. I haven’t been able to talk to them to get any specifics on the cars themselves to assess the damage as far as money-wise.”
Multiple agencies assisted Harrison Township Fire at the scene.
No one was injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
