Man arrested after wife’s decapitated head found in freezer

BELLMEAD, TX (WCMH) — A man has been charged with first degree murder after police say his wife’s head was found in a freezer in the couple’s home.

According to police, the suspect, Davey Dauzat, 23, acted normal when they were called to the home earlier in the day for a welfare check.

Later, however, police say Dauzat admitted to killing his wife while the couple’s two children were in the home.

“It is a scary though living in a house that I own and right next door there’s a killing. Never been anything like this,” said neighbor James Lee.

The Texas Rangers along with the Bellmead police are investigating. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
