Greenon, Clark-Shawnee Schools to dismiss early Monday due to heat

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – All Greenon Local Schools in Springfield and Clark-Shawnee Schools will dismiss early on Monday.

According to Greenon Local Schools’ Facebook page, the reason is from the excessive temperatures in the forecast for Monday.

All Greenon schools will dismiss two hours early.

A building with air-conditioning will be be offered at Indian Valley and Enon for kids who are not able to be picked up by parents.

Preschool will operate on the two-hour early release schedule as well.

Clark-Shawnee’s website says the district will follow its early release schedule for a 90 minute early release. The website says students who ride the bus will be transported as dismissal time.

The High School will dismiss at 1:05, primary grades at 1:45 and middle school at 2:20. Preschool will follow their early release schedule with the AM session running 8:25-10:30 and the PM session running 11:40-1:45.

Clark-Shawnee’s website lists the reason for early dismissal as excessive temperatures.
