MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WCMH) – Deputies say an armed robbery involved a naked gunman with a love for chocolate covered peanut butter cups.
According to an incident report, officers were called just after midnight to the Scotchman Store in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, WBTW-TV reports.
The clerk said the man never said anything or approached him. The clerk said the naked thief did have a gun, and he left the store with a load of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
The naked bandit is described as a black male, age 18-30. He was wearing a bandanna over his face and had on black shoes.
The case is similar to a robbery spree in Lorian, Ohio where a man robbed several convenience stores of their Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups over a six month period.
“Sometimes he would just steal one, other times he would grab several, or even a whole box,” Lorain police Lt. Mark Carpentiere told Cleveland.com. “One time they tricked him. The store cut open the bottom of the box so when he grabbed it he fled with an empty box.”
The suspect in that case, a 17-year-old, was eventually arrested after stealing an estimated $600 worth of candy.
