Arrest made in Airsoft BB gun shooting that injures 4-year-old

URBANA, Ohio (WDTN) – Police arrest an Urbana University student in connection with the BB gun shooting incident where a child was hurt.

Authorities announced Sunday they had taken 19-year-old Chad King of Columbus into custody Friday night.

King admitted to firing the shot that injured 4-year-old Maci Clay while he was driving back to school last Wednesday.

King has been charged with the following: Assault, Obstructing Official Business, and Throwing or Shooting Misses – all misdemeanors.

He was taken to Tri-County Jail where, he posted bond, was released, and is ordered to make his original court appearance in Champaign Municipal Court on Tuesday, September 6. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
