Employee injured by roller coaster car at Indiana Beach

MONTICELLO. Ind. (WLFI) — An Indiana Beach employee was injured Saturday after he was struck by the car of a roller coaster.

According to a release from the Monticello Fire Department, crews responded to the amusement park around 1 p.m. for a report of a male struck by a roller coaster car.

Officials with Indiana Beach told News 18 the employee is a mechanic and was working on a platform of the Cornball Express roller coaster.

The release says the man suffered multiple injuries. He was taken to IU Health White Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to Indianapolis.
