Man hit by vehicle, critically injured in Bethel Township

BETHEL TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – A Medway man sustained life threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Bethel Township on Tuesday night.

It happened around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday on North Tecumseh Road, just north of U.S. Route 40.

The Ohio Highway Patrol says 45-year-old Lawrence L. Mason was standing on the east side of the road, when he was hit by an unknown northbound vehicle.

The vehicle fled the scene of the crash. Mason was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.

Witnesses tell OSP the vehicle was a gray or pewter colored sport utility vehicle or minivan.

The crash closed North Tecumseh Road for nearly an hour.

Anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to call the Springfield Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, which is handling the investigation.
