DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Nearly $23,000 in drugs were seized from a car following a traffic stop in Montgomery County Sept. 4.
It happened just before 5 p.m. on Interstate 70 eastbound near mile marker 25.
“Criminal indicators were observed” and a K-9 officer alerted to the vehicle, indicating drugs inside. Troopers searched the vehicle and found four pounds of marijuana, a pound of marijuana shatter, a half gram of crystal methamphetamine, 15 Alprazolam and six Clonazepam pills, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The drugs have a street value of $22,700.
The driver, Sara Smith, 25, of Dayton was taken to the Montgomery County Jail. She is charged with possession of marijuana and hashish, both third-degree felonies, and possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.
