ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD (WCMH) — Rhonda Hill thought the neighbor kids were just having a normal sibling squabble.
“I heard the little girl screaming,” Hill said.
Then the screams got louder, and Hill knew it had to be something horrible.
“She was screaming behind the door and then … then I just stopped hearing it,” she said.
When police arrived, they found the 10-year-old’s body behind the door. She had been stabbed to death. Officers searched the house and found her 13-year-old brother as well. He suffering from stab wounds, but he was alive.
Police say they believe the oldest brother, 18-year-old Andres Garcia, is responsible for killing the little girl and stabbing the 13-year-old boy. He is nowhere to be found.
“Full-on manhunt,” Lt. Ryan Frashure said. “We looked all last night into this morning. We will continue to search for Mr. Garcia until he is in custody.”
Hill is still haunted by the events of Monday night.
“Breaks my heart,” she said. “The little girl is gone and I feel sorry for the mama.”
