HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — Officials believe a driver fell asleep at the wheel before losing control of a semi-tractor trailer on I-75 in Harrison Township.
It happened in the southbound lane near Wagner Ford Road around 5:15 a.m.
Police Dispatch says officers responded to a call of a jack-knifed semi, finding the truck down an embankment.
The driver was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. He was awake and alert when he was loaded into the ambulance for transport.
The ramp from I-75 southbound to Wagner Ford Road was shut down as crews worked to clear the scene. That ramp has since reopened.
Tow trucks are in the process of removing the semi from the area.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are both working the scene.
