ZANESFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – Friday marks the one-year anniversary of the fire at Mad River Mountain.
It took 15 fire departments to bring the huge fire under control. The fire destroyed the lodge on September 16, 2015.
The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office says the wood helped fuel the massive flames. Just two months later, a temporary lodge was put up while a permanent one was designed.
According to Mad River Mountain’s website, the new multi-million dollar building will feature a more spacious loft, live music stage, and impressive views of the mountain.
the new lodge should be finished November first of this year…just in time for the new ski season.
