DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) The University is warning students and faculty of an attempted burglary that happened Sunday morning.
The police chief released this message on twitter:
2NEWS has contacted the University for more information and they provided a letter sent to students and staff:
“The Department of Public Safety is providing this information to notify the University of Dayton community regarding an occurrence in the South Student Neighborhood.
At approximately 5:15 AM on September 18, 2016 a male student reported that an attempted burglary had just occurred at a University of Dayton residence on Stonemill Road.
The student reported he was awakened by the sound of his bedroom window being opened.
“I was still dazed and confused from being asleep and I ended up asking the guy, I was like, “What’s going on, man” and he jumped out of the window faster than a gunshot and he was just out of there,” said the student.
University of Dayton police officers searched the neighborhood but were unable to locate the suspect.
