Dance coach charged with statutory rape, exposing minor to HIV

MEMPHIS, TN (WCMH) — A Tennessee dance coach has been arrested and charged with statutory rape after police say he had sex with one of his minor students, exposing him to HIV.

According to WREG, court documents state John Conner III met the victim, 16 at the time, on a social media website and would later have unprotected sex.

The two would have unprotected sex several times, according to the affidavit, but Conner, 26 at the time, did not tell the victim he has HIV.

Conner was charged with criminal exposure to HIV, soliciting sexual exploitation of a minor and statutory rape by an authority figure, after being arrested Friday.
