Police: Known prostitute tries to break into home, is arrested

Joshua Brown (Montgomery County Jail).

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A known prostitute is in jail Wednesday after he tried breaking into a home on Forest Avenue.

It happened just before 5 a.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Forest Avenue when a woman said she fell asleep on her couch with the window cracked — and the storm screen was in place, according to a Dayton police report.

She said she awoke to what she thought was a woman climbing into the home through the window. After the woman screamed in fear, the suspect, Joshua Brown, fled the scene.

Police were called to the residence and spotted 24-year-old Brown looking into windows along Forest Avenue and took him into custody.

Brown “is a known prostitute and is known to identify himself as a female,” according to the report. He will dress up in women’s clothes, wear wigs and women’s makeup.

As police were booking Brown into jail, he threatened the woman who called police on him, saying she was going to be “visiting them” and that they will regret this.
