Cincinnati schools close over clown threat

READING, OH (WDTN) — Reading Community City Schools have canceled classes Friday after a woman reported a clown attacked her and made threats against students.

According to a post on the Reading Community City Schools Facebook page, the woman reports during the attack the man dressed as a clown allegedly made threats against students in the district.

“We take all threats to the safety of our students seriously. We were especially concerned with the number of students who walk to school in the early morning hours and made the decision to close school.”

This is also homecoming weekend for the district and according to the post, decisions about any activities will be made later Friday.

WLWT reports Mount Notre Dame High School also closed due to the reported threat.

According to WLWT, Colerain police arrested a juvenile on Thursday in connection with a clown-related threat that was made for Friday. Gallatin County authorities said Thursday that a high school student had admitted being involved in a threat made in that district. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
