Felony charges approved for alleged bus stop rapist

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The man accused of raping a child now formally faces felony charges.

Randy Stanaford, 39, faces charges of kidnapping with a sexual motivation specification and rape of a child under the age of 13.

He is accused of sexually assaulting a girl while she was waiting at a bus stop on Edgar Avenue in Dayton on Sept. 26.

“We are very pleased and commend the Dayton Police Department and the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory for the efficient and prompt response and efficient investigation of this case which resulted in a swift arrest of the defendant,” said Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck.
