Beavercreek father arrested after infant taken to the hospital

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – Police are investigating injuries to a baby that happened last week.

The Beavercreek Police said Monday they were called to Dayton Children’s Hospital on Monday, September 26 around 3:30 in the morning. The emergency room staff reported a two-month-old infant showed signs of child abuse.

Police say investigators were called immediately and they quickly arrested the father, Saul Chavez, 23, on two counts of child endangering.

Chavez was booked into the Fairborn Jail on September 28 and is now being held in the Greene County Jail on $200,000 bond.

The infant is still at Dayton Children’s Hospital.
