DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The man accused of kidnapping and raping a child at a Dayton bus stop made his first appearance before a judge Monday.
Randy Stanaford, 39, is already a registered tier three sex offender for a crime he committed in Butler County in 2008. We also found he hasn’t been a free man that long.
According to Butler County court records, Stanaford was convicted of attempted kidnapping and public indecency involving a minor about 8 years ago.
He served six years in prison and was released in August 2015.
He is now facing new charges including kidnapping and rape of a child under the age of 13.
According to the prosecutors office, the assault happened in September at the Edgar Avenue bus stop in Dayton.
In a video arraignment Monday, the judge appointed the public defender’s office to his case and set bail for $500,000.
Stanaford has a preliminary hearing set for Friday.
