WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Two young girls, 11 and 9 years old, came home from school Friday in Warren, Ohio to find two women passed out, according to a police report.

The 11-year-old called 911 after a family friend revived the girl’s aunt, but was unable to revive her mother.

When officers and paramedics arrived at the home on Edgehill Avenue in Warren shortly after 4 p.m., they found 39-year-old Johanna Yartz unconscious on the floor and began trying to revive her.

She was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital for treatment, and will be charged with endangering children. Her family told police that she has overdosed multiple times in the past.

According to the police report, the aunt, 40-year-old Jamie Yartz, was conscious but “out of it.”

She was arrested on a warrant out of Girard for a probation violation.

Officers said the children will stay with the family friend. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
