Buses await evacuees ahead of Hurricane Matthew

(WCBD) School bus drivers from Greenville County, South Carolina are helping transport evacuees out of Charleston as Hurricane Matthew approaches.

Hundreds of drivers arrived at the North Charleston Coliseum Thursday morning, waiting to drive evacuees upstate.

The drivers volunteered to help transport people to shelters at various pickup locations throughout Charleston after being given the opportunity by the Greenville County School District.

“If we can help somebody be safe or re-locate them to get them out of the storm, lets do what we can,” one driver said.
