VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) — Police have reopened Poe Avenue at Little York Road as they investigate a reported robbery.

Vandalia Police Dispatch says officers closed the road for more than an hour as they searched for suspects.

Vandalia, Huber Heights and Butler Township Police are working together to investigate a pair of late-night hotel robberies.

The Red Roof Inn on Miller Lane and the Travelodge in the 7500 block of Poe Avenue were both robbed.

Police say the first robbery happened just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday night at the Red Roof Inn. Someone robbed the hotel and a pizza delivery driver.

Around 3 a.m. on Thursday, someone robbed the Travelodge on Poe. Officers set up a perimeter after the Travelodge robbery to search for suspects, which led to the road closure.

Police say the robberies may be connected. No one was hurt in either robbery.

There is no suspect information at this time, as the investigation continues.
