Ohio Task Force One deploys to help Hurricane Matthew victims


DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – An elite search and rescue team is deploying to the southeast coast to aid Hurricane Matthew victims.

Ohio Task Force One is scheduled to leave late Thursday night for Lakeland, Florida.

The team performed practice rescues ahead of departing.

“We’ll roll out of here with a team of 80 people for our task force. There’s over 300 represented from the tri-state area members of Ohio Task Force One,” said rescue team manager, Steve Shupert.

According to him, all members are local firefighters.
