Police take time to meet community for ‘National Coffee with a Cop Day’

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Chief of Dayton Police took some time Friday morning to meet with community members and have a cup of coffee.

The ‘coffee with a cop’ event was attended by Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl, Assistant Chiefs Mark Ecton and Matt Carper as well as East Pod Commander Brian Johns.

Communities around the Miami Valley are hosting events for “National Coffee With a Cop Day.” Dayton Police held theirs at Evans Bakery on Troy Street Friday.

Trotwood Police also held an event on East Mian Street at The Point Church.

The goal of the meetings is to remove barriers that come between police and the residents they protect.

Dayton Police also held an event at Wright Stop Plaza Friday.
