Trotwood man indicted for rape of a child

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office announced the indictment of a Trotwood man Friday for the 2009 rape of a child.

Alonzo Craft, 43 from Trotwood was indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury.

The Prosecutor’s Office says the victim, who is now 14 years old, told her mother Craft sexually assaulted her in 2009. The Dayton Police Department was notified and they began an investigation.

Craft was indicted on one count of rape of a child less than 10 years old. A conviction could result in a sentence of life in prison.

Craft was also arrested in September in an unrelated incident. He was arrested in connection with a September 29 assault at an apartment complex in Dayton where Craft is employed as a maintenance worker. That incident is still being investigated.
