Huber Heights Police searching for bank robbery suspect


HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) – Huber Heights Police officers responded to a report of a bank robbery at the River Valley Credit Union at 6595 Brandt Pike in Huber Heights around 11:10 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the male suspect was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and a bandana. According to authorities, the suspect entered the bank with a bandana on his face and demanded money. The suspect didn’t show a weapon, but his hand gestures indicated he may have had one according to a news release. The suspect ran behind the business with an unknown amount of money.

A K-9 unit was brought to the scene, but the suspect wasn’t found.

While officers were responding to the scene, a Huber Heights officer chasing the suspects lost control of his cruiser and crashed into the store sign at the Dollar General next door.  The officer wasn’t hurt, but the cruiser was heavily damaged.

No word on what what was taken from the credit union.
