Kansas deputy escapes kidnappers

OLATHE, Kan (KSHB) – Kansas authorities are searching for two men who kidnapped and assaulted an off-duty female sheriff’s deputy.

At 11:30 p.m. a dark blue Mazda 4-door, or similar style was in a parking lot near 101 N. Kansas Avenue across from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center. A white male driver forced the deputy into the car against her will.

The deputy escaped the car at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday in Lee’s Summit.

“It appears to be a random act,” Johnson County Sheriff Frank Denning said.

Police are looking for two suspects they say were in the dark blue Mazda captured on multiple local surveillance videos.
