DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Two men drove an SUV through the front of a Family Dollar store in Dayton Tuesday morning.
Police were called to the 4200 block of West Third Street in Dayton around 3:30 Tuesday morning after a burglar alarm sounded at the store.
When officers arrived they saw a lot of damage to the front of the store. When the store manager arrived and police saw surveillance video, they confirmed their suspicion that someone drove an SUV through the front of the store, according to a police report.
The report explains that two men can be seen on the video kicking the front door and then leaving. The men returned approximately five minutes later in a silver SUV, driving it in reverse through the front of the store. The men then got out of the SUV and entered the store.
Police do not know who the men are and are still looking for them. The first suspect is a black male with a slender build and was wearing an oversized black leather jacket, gray sweatpants, black shoes and a black baseball hat with white lettering.
The second suspect is also a black man with a slender build. He was wearing an oversized blue jacket, black pants and a green fishing hat.
Police do not know what items were taken but can be seen in the video taking several red boxes off a shelf in the store. The store manager told police the boxes contained TV antennas.
Police believe the SUV may have been stolen and could be a 2001 Chevy Tracker with Ohio plate number GPK 4558.
This case is still under investigation.
