Stores in Butler Township evacuated after fire

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – A fire at a Butler Township video game store caused an evacuation Wednesday.

Several stores at the York Commons Shopping Center off Benchwood Road were evacuated around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon after a small fire started in the back of the Game Stop store.

Stores surrounding the Game Stop, Petland and Spring were also evacuated as a safety precaution. The smoke was contained to the Game Stop.

Fire officials told 2 NEWS the fire was put out with a fire extinguisher before crews arrived.
