Victim identified in deadly Miami County crash

Fatal crash on Eldean Road/Piqua Daily Call

TROY, Ohio (WDTN) — The victim has been identified in a deadly single-vehicle crash in Miami County.

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Joseph Andrew Granlund from Fletcher died in the crash.

Investigators say speed and wet road conditions are considered factors in the crash.

Alcohol may also be a factor, but the Sheriff’s Office says that won’t be confirmed until an autopsy is completed.

The crash happened in the 300 block of Eldean Road, just north of Troy.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call about the crash at 3:11 a.m. on Thursday.

Investigators say Granlund was thrown from his pickup truck during a rollover crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eldean was shutdown from Piqua Troy Road to North County Road 25A while investigators reconstructed the accident.

That road has since reopened.

The Sheriff’s Office says Granlund was the only person in the truck at the time of the crash. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
