Home invasion suspect shot, homeowner injured in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) — A reported home invasion ended with a person shot and another injured in Springfield on Thursday morning.

Police responded to a call of shots fired during a home invasion in the 1800 block of Quincy Road just after 1 a.m. on Thursday.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a person shot in the front yard of the home. An early investigation on the scene indicates a homeowner shot a suspect during an attempted home invasion.

The shooting victim was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital where their condition is unknown at this time.

The homeowner received undisclosed injuries during a fight with the suspect.

Investigators are on the scene learning more information about the shooting. We’ll provide updates as they become available.
