Man accused in Troy disappearance and death case pleads guilty

TROY, Ohio (WDTN) – The man accused in the death of a Tipp City man in 2015 pleaded guilty to several charges Friday.

Richard Terrel pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, felonious assault, gross abuse of a corpse and two counts of receiving stolen property.

Terrell and girlfriend, Hope Earnshaw-York, were charged in connection with the death of William York, Hope’s grandfather. William York was reported missing from his home in May 2015 and his body was found in Kentucky five days later.

Prosecutors say the couple stole guns that York reported missing before his disappearance. They say Earnshaw-York and Terrel were also stopped while driving York’s pickup truck.
